EllinDor Ultra Premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil bears the aforementioned Health Claim on its label, according to European Regulation 432/2012.
According to European Regulation 432/2012 (L136/25.5.2012 page 26) of the European Food & Safety Authority (E.F.S.A.), a Health Claim may be included on the label of olive oil that contains at least 250mg of polyphenols per 1Kg of oil; i.e. a tablespoon of 20gr should contain more than 5mg of polyphenols.
This European Directive permits any olive oil that meets these requirements to add a label on their packaging with the following Health Claim:
“Olive oil polyphenols contribute to the protection of blood lipids from oxidative stress. The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 20gr of olive oil.”
The amount of bioactive substances detected in EllinDor olive oil exceeds the threshold of 250gr/kg accepted by the European Directive 432/16-05-2012 of the European Food & Safety Authority (E.F.S.A).
The analysis and certification provided by the pharmaceutical department of the Kapodistrian University of Athens, confirms that the daily consumption of 20gr of Ultra Premium EllinDor protects blood lipids from oxidative stress, in accordance with Regulation 432/2012 of the European Union.
